In January, eBay released a new report that revealed a significantly more geographically inclusive spread of new enterprise formation on eBay compared to the brick and mortar economy during the 2010-14 recovery.  These findings point toward Internet-enabled small business growth as a force for economic dynamism and inclusive economic growth that are potentially countering the trends in the traditional economy over the past three recoveries.

The Chamber of Commerce released a very useful new study this week estimating the job and GDP impact globally (and for EU, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nigeria) of full liberalization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services. The study estimates a positive ICT services legal and regulatory environment could add $1.72 trillion to global GDP and the creation of 23.04 million new jobs globally.

Today, the European Union Parliament approved the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada. CETA will take provisional effect after approval by the Canadian Senate, which is expected within weeks. (See article.)
