European privacy regulators have accepted EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, allowing companies in the United States and the European Union to begin self-certification to ease transfers of data to the U.S. starting August 1st. European officials have placed what they call a "moretoreum" on the Shield's challenges, waiting until after Summer 2017 to revisit the agreement.
