On August 10, 2016 CSI joined 45 other US and international business organizations in sending a letter to Chinese Premier LI urging that China, prior to the G20 Summit, take steps to address serious concerns regarding its information communications technology policies.  The letter specifically requests that China address concerns raised by its draft Cybersecurity Law and pending CIRC Provisions on Insurance Informatization regarding broad data residency requirements, trade inhibiting security reviews and requirements for ict products and services, and data retention and sharing and law enforcement assistance requirements.
